A new rainbow crosswalk has been painted at Â鶹AV General Hospital.

Executive Director Danielle Cameron said the crosswalk was painted on Oct. 12.

“Interior Health has rainbow crosswalks at several sites across the region. This one here at Â鶹AV General Hospital was supported by the [KGH] foundation.â€

Cameron said it’s important that staff and patients all feel safe when visiting the hospital.

“We do have a formal Interior Health policy that speaks specifically to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and it’s very forefront in terms of both how we welcome staff into their roles as well as in the foundations of how we provide care.â€

The crosswalk sits at the Rose Avenue entrance to the hospital.
