A new rainbow crosswalk has been painted at 麻豆AV General Hospital.
Executive Director Danielle Cameron said the crosswalk was painted on Oct. 12.
鈥淚nterior Health has rainbow crosswalks at several sites across the region. This one here at 麻豆AV General Hospital was supported by the [KGH] foundation.鈥�
Cameron said it鈥檚 important that staff and patients all feel safe when visiting the hospital.
鈥淲e do have a formal Interior Health policy that speaks specifically to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and it鈥檚 very forefront in terms of both how we welcome staff into their roles as well as in the foundations of how we provide care.鈥�
The crosswalk sits at the Rose Avenue entrance to the hospital.
