The Central Okanagan Food Bank received a large donation from Hilton Global Foundation ahead of the holidays.
The charitable arm of Hilton hotels donated $20,745 to the organization.
âIt is hard to express how grateful we are for this level of support, and it couldnât come at a more critical time for our community,â said COFB Director of Development Trina Speiser. âThis donation will have a profound impact on the lives of hundreds of families, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation for this incredibly generous gift.â
VP of Hilton Global Catherine Linskey said the food bank came to their attention after wildfires threatened a great deal of the Central Okanagan and thousands were evacuated.
âWe are proud to have supported the effort to provide immediate help for displaced families and were impressed by the incredible response of many local organizations, including the Central Okanagan Food Bank. We hope this donation will make a difference for the Christmas season.â
