Nine B.C. restaurants have found themselves among the top 50 hotel restaurants in Canada based on OpenTable and KAYAK's research.
Most of the B.C. restaurants on the list are based in the Lower Mainland, including the Michelin-recommended Botanist, Notch8, ARC, and the Victor — Parq Vancouver in Vancouver, and ATLAS Steak + Fish in Burnaby.
The Courtney Room and Tea at The Empress in Victoria, Lakeside Dining Room — Hotel El Dorado in 鶹AV, and the Brickworks in Whistler round out the B.C. locations.
According to their research, 64 per cent of Canadians believe that hotel restaurants are a dining option open to both tourists and locals alike, while 68 per cent say they would book the same hotel again because of a positive dining experience in its on-site restaurant.
“Travellers aren’t just asking ‘Where should I go?’ – they’re asking ‘What’s on the menu when I get there?’” said Kate Williams, chief communications officer at KAYAK. “Great dining experiences are an essential part of today’s travel itineraries and hotels are rising to the occasion.”
